What is DearClient?
DearClient is a secure payment-on-delivery platform designed for creative professionals. It ensures your clients pay before accessing your files—guaranteeing payment, saving time, and enabling smooth, professional delivery.
Who is DearClient for?
Whether you’re a solo freelancer or part of a larger team, DearClient is built for creative professionals. That includes content creators, musicians, illustrators, filmmakers, writers, architects, photographers, animators, editors, translators, designers, and researchers.
How does DearClient work?
Upload your files to DearClient, set a price, and send your client a payment link. They pay securely—only then can they download your work. No more unpaid invoices. No more awkward reminders. Just smooth, instant payments for creative work.
What types of files can I send?
We support a wide range of commonly used file types. For image files, you can upload .gif, .heic, .heif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .svg, and .webp. For documents, we support .doc, .docx, .key, .odt, .pdf, .ppt, .pptx, .pps, .ppsx, .txt, .xls, and .xlsx. For audio, accepted formats are .mp3, .ogg, and .wav. For video, we support .3g2, .3gp, .avi, .m4v, .mov, .mp4, .mpg, .ogv, .wmv, and .vtt. If you’re using a format not listed, we recommend compressing files into a .zip or .rar archive. If you are having trouble uploading your files, just email us at support@dearclient.app—we’ll help you get it sorted.
Are there restrictions on what content I can send?
Yes, all content shared through DearClient must comply with the law and the terms of our payment provider, Stripe. Prohibited content includes fraudulent material, adult content, and anything that infringes intellectual property rights. If you’re unsure whether your files are permitted, just email us at support@dearclient.app—we’ll help you check.
Will my clients need to create an account?
No, your clients can pay and download files without creating an account. If they choose to create one, they’ll be able to access their files within 30 days of payment.
What happens to my files after they are downloaded?
Your files stay securely stored on our servers for 30 days after payment. If your client has an account, they can access their files during that time. After 30 days, all files are permanently deleted. We never use your files for AI training, or any other secondary purpose. All copyrights and usage rights remain entirely with you—we don’t claim, copy, or repurpose your content in any way, not even temporarily.
What payment methods are accepted?
We use Stripe as our payment processor. Your clients can pay using any major debit or credit card. Adding Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank transfers is on our roadmap.
Is there a fee for using DearClient?
Creating and maintaining a DearClient account is completely free. You’re only charged when you send a paid file transfer.
What does the 5% service fee cover?
We charge a fixed 5% fee based on the value of each transfer. This covers all platform costs, payment processing via Stripe, and currency conversion. Your client pays in their currency, and you receive the amount in yours with no additional deductions.
How secure are the files I upload?
All files are hosted securely on GDPR-compliant and ISO/IEC 27001 certified servers in Germany. Your files are stored in private, non-indexed directories and are only available to your specific client after full payment. Access is granted through a single-use encrypted download link that expires immediately after use. Files are automatically deleted from our servers 30 days after payment. We don’t use your content for AI training, data analysis, or any other purpose beyond delivery. Your copyrights and usage rights stay with you—we never access, or reuse your files in any form.

How is my financial information protected?
All payments on DearClient are processed securely through Stripe, a leading global payment provider certified to PCI DSS Level 1. We never store or see your financial details.
Is it possible to deactivate or delete my account?
Yes, you can request to deactivate or permanently delete your account at any time by emailing support@dearclient.app. Transfers you’ve already sent will remain available to your clients for the original 30-day period.
